Why a Newborn Session?

So you're thinking about booking a newborn session...

You're expecting a beautiful new baby, or maybe they've already arrived, and your considering booking a newborn session. Let me help answer some questions.  First, you will never regret the investment capturing your precious baby in their first days of life.  Even if you skip the next few sessions and wait a year for their next photo op, they will never change as much as they will RIGHT NOW! They are only this sleepy, this squishy, this posable for a few days! Newborn sessions are done within the first 10 days after birth when they are very sleepy and very flexible from their time in utero.  It is never too early to book. Because of the unpredictable nature of a baby's arrival, I only take a select few newborns each month.  If you want to snatch one of those spots 6 months away, not a problem.  I'll send an invoice for a deposit to hold your due date. When baby arrives, we schedule a session within 10 days.

As you consider having professional newborn photos done, you don't want to hire just anyone.  It may look easy, but it actually takes years of practice and lots of skill. Have you seen the "Nailed It!" Facebook memes? I have photographed over three hundred newborns and their safety is of utmost importance.  Many poses you see need to be done correctly to ensure the baby is safe at all times. I am always gentle and make sure your baby is comfortable and safe throughout the whole session!

Newborn sessions are 2-3 hours to allow plenty of time for soothing and feeding to ensure a sleepy baby - that is our goal! There will be plenty of time for baby alone, baby with siblings, and baby with parents, and the whole family together in my Newborn & Family Session.  digital files will be delivered via an online gallery within 3 weeks, typically much sooner.  Photos you favorite from your gallery can be downloaded and shared, just please tag my business , do not use filters, and give photo credit with any social media sharing.

I have plenty of props, wraps, pant and hat sets, headbands and tiebacks and lots of backdrops. There is no need to bring a thing! Siblings are welcome to come as well.  I hope to meet you and your newest little one soon!
